WHO WE ARE
INTRODUCING SHATTERBOX
In a world that too often asks us to fit neatly into predefined boxes, we are the square pegs that insist on round holes. We are Shatterbox—a collective of strong, working-class women uniting our diverse lived experiences to serve communities that are both precious and vulnerable. Born out of personal journeys that intertwine neurodiversity and queer identities, we strive to build a sanctuary for individuals and families who navigate these often isolated spectrums. Based in Ireland, we are working to create national and international dialogue on these intersecting spectrums.
OUR STORY
An emerging charity founded by three resilient women—two queer, neurodivergent sisters and a close neurodivergent friend—we each bring unique skills from backgrounds in youth, community,IT and humanitarian work. Our families are beautiful mosaics of diverse identities and orientations, all of whom have been directly impacted by Autism and ADHD.Through the lens of our distinctive perspectives, we understand the gaps in services that could be filled with more inclusive, wrap-around support.
OUR FOCUS
While services exist to separately support the LGBTQIA+, Trans, and Neurodivergent communities, Shatterbox aims to fill the void where these spectrums intersect. Although our primary focus is on the 'T' in LGBTQIA+, we are passionate about elevating the conversation around what it means to be trans, neurodivergent, and queer.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is multi-faceted: to celebrate, educate, advocate, and adapt. We believe in the power of sharing positive narratives that honor the richness of diverse lives, but we recognize that celebration without understanding falls short. That's why we are committed to educating people in language that is both accessible and inviting, fostering greater acceptance and compassion. Beyond this, we actively advocate for the communities we serve, aiming to effect systemic change. Additionally, we are attuned to emerging needs, ready to adapt and respond in real-time to the evolving challenges that face our communities.

The name "Shatterbox" is more than just a label; it is a manifesto. Throughout our lives, society has often insisted that we—and our children—should conform to certain "boxes." At Shatterbox, we are tearing down these constructs to build a more accepting world for our children and for everyone who dares to live authentically.
